again i feel like the work of administration & moderation being done entirely by part-time volunteers with no real standard toolkit is just a fundamentally less *stable* model than traditional social media, no matter which you prefer. maybe you don't feel comfortable signing most of that away to algorithms with human oversight but at least on traditional social media you at least have the reasonable assurance that trust & safety won't evaporate overnight*

though I do sometimes wonder what draws people to instances where the admin/moderation team is so obviously unstable from the outside -
@LARSNEVERDIES I guess if it's your first time landing in this place it's understandable
but they're generally quite visible people so you'd wonder if people would notice that something was up
