I'm not saying you should call into work tomorrow because you don't feel that it's safe to be executing commerce during the eclipse because all the werebeasts get all frothy. actually, yes, yes I am.

@djsundog Arkansas declared a state of emergency.
-
consider it a soft practice for a general strike. have some fun with it. we're in control.
-
-
@ajroach42 if the Arkansans are not prepared then whomst among us
-
@djsundog calling in sick isn't a strike
-
@crashglasshouses semantics don't win revolutions
-
@crashglasshouses besides, I said soft!
-
@djsundog it's not semantics. calling in sick is not a strike. unless you're organising a sick-in, where you've organised your fellow workers to *all* call in sick, then it's not a strike. it's just calling in sick. it's not even soft practise. it's *just* calling in sick. that's it.
a strike requires organisation in your workplace, and failing to do so risks everyone getting fired. calling in sick, on your own, alone, does not require this action, nor does it pressure the boss to do anything. it is not a strike.
-
@crashglasshouses you're certainly taking a shitpost further than I would have anticipated.
-
@djsundog how should i have known it's a shitpost? you're not the first person to suggest the [VERY BAD IDEA] of encouraging calling in sick as some kind of unorganised strike. i have good reasons to take this seriously.
-
@crashglasshouses I dunno, maybe the mention of werebeasts as an excuse could have been a clue. have a great night.
