@jay my issue with wireless earbuds is that you'd be charging them every 5 hours which would quickly get annoying
if they made a 2.4ghz sorta headphone extension that goes to a box that clips onto a shirt I'd like that. -

@jay even on the high end you're only getting 10 hours and maybe 12
but all these tws buds have a 5 hour battery because apple does.
I don't mind a cable or an ear clip if it means I could get all day battery life -

@Jessica yeah i still mainly use a wired headset, it's just that if i could walk around the house with bluetooth connection, regardless of battery life, i'd use wireless a lot more

@jay can't do bluetooth. it's a bad standard. it won't work, has to be 2.4g USB dongle. no other way is strong enough.
plus audio quality has bad latency and the audio quality is poor if you enable the microphone. -

@Jessica ah, i see, but wouldn't 2.4g get crowded out by wifi? (i live in an apartment building)

@jay bluetooth wouldn't be any better since it's also 2.4g
it's just a bad standard. -

@jay for what this means, my best bluetooth headset can just get to across the house with some of my devices, with my logi g435 headset's USB dongle I can go outside, into the basement, etc and still have a solid connection.

@jay bluetooth might just be a really weak standard, and probably overcrowded because it's being shared with random USB dongles, wifi routers, everyone else with their bluetooth headphones, microwaves, etc

@jay and in my experience tws earbuds tend to have poor signal quality since there's no room for a beefy antenna like a neckband or seperate box could do.

@jay and depending on the device you connect the headphones to, it could either have both earbuds connecting to the phone itself or one earbud is using it's own 2.4g signal to connect the left and right ones.
so like if you notice one earbud dies quicker than the other, it's possible that your headphones aren't using the better both-side bluetooth mode, or don't have it -
