I'm nonbinary. I applied for a Gender Recognition Certificate. My application was granted, but I've had to sue the UK to try to get it issued.
I've spent about £100k out of pocket already.
I'm expecting another £100k in costs for my appeal, which is being heard next week.

While this might not be the most important issue right now, this is one that has a clear path to being won, and any win would make the next one a little easier.

@ryanc thats nuts!
I have to pay my laser appointments myself but damn, I will never complain about these little issues again, 200k for a gender marker on the passport? Jesus -

@chrissienby This isn't about passports - those don't record legal gender in the UK. It would potentially make it possible to challenge that issue again, though.
I do not intend to get a UK passport once I have citizenship.

@chrissienby and those numbers don't include the nearly £100k in donations towards my case.
I will get most of it back if I win, but I'll have to pay the government's costs (over £100k) if I lose.
