Holy shit. Here's an amazingly good thing about running #linux on my daily driver laptop. I am at a rented apartment in Brighton and the stupid people have let their broadband lapse. No WiFi in the flat.

So I plug my iPhone into my #debian laptop just because I wanted it to charge. I was about to set up a wifi hotspot so it the laptop could use my 4G data plan. No need. I plugged in the USB and my laptop is like "hey, we have a wired internet connection." Just that. Boom! it worked. Wow.

i also get 60Gb data for £13/month, which seems really good for a mobile plan. So hooking up my laptop to the phone isn't gonna wreck me.
