Perhaps this already exists, but it would be nice to see a daily tally of how many times each pub links to or references content on Xitter. Seems like in certain areas -- particularly sports -- Xitter is the default place for short clips. I don't believe these pubs are even aware themselves.
Btw I'm proposing but not volunteering for this project because I lack the skills to build it myself.

@scottwilson Whether they care or not though is not the point of this exercise: It's to hold a mirror to their faces every day, and to have a place where many others can shine the mirror in their direction over and over.

@briankrebs I think media outfits will diversify because Shitter posts are not available to the “public internet”.

@briankrebs I feel like there’s a lot of “engagement” on Twitter/X which looks good on paper with the numbers and the retweets and all that, but let’s be real the vast majority of it is bot activity, but if you work at the newspaper and your job is to get the numbers up, you’re not gonna wanna say hey 99% of this activity on Twitter/X is completely useless and possibly even detrimental. I feel like a lot of organizations have bad metrics, driving bad decisions and bad behaviors , especially when it comes to the use of social media. Basically it’s an emperor has no clothes kind of situation but also the town folk don’t have any clothes either. If we all pretend it’ll be fine.

@briankrebs I've written to all of my local TV/Radio stations telling them I want them to cease use of X and move to something else. I provide all sorts of alternatives and I get nothing back.
