@gamingonlinux Their products still don't make any sense. A Raspi 5 8gb model with M.2 hat, 256gb SSD, power adapter and necessary cooling puts me just below 200€.
For that price I can get a x86-based Mini-PC with way more power, way more reliable features (like WPA3 and AV1 support) and more upgradeability. Or hell, even 3 to 4 used Mini-PCs with the same power.Instead of their original goal (cheap & accessible) they went for growth and profit, even going public. Sad to see.

I agree with some of this, I don't think it makes sense for them to be producing SSDs when other companies have the scale and demand to reduce the costs the most. Hats, perhaps, I worry about some of the cheap and quick to market products that we've seen ... how much testing and after sales support for these things is there really?I'd much prefer to see them innovating at the device level, updating the Pi0, CM5 and a new Pi500 with built in NVME support.
As for them making a profit, if this allows for increased investment in the core product line and (selfishly) support for their U.K. based manufacturing then I'm all for it and encourage it wholeheartedly.

@Fishd @gamingonlinux The problem isn't inherently profit, but that they went public. Obviously that gives them a massive amount of money in a short time, however it also makes them a slave to it and overwrites any moral or sensible approach to problems as they *have* to turn a profit in the future, always. Should they ever struggle people can now literally bet on their demise to turn a profit off their corpse. It's neither stable nor sane and totally fucks up what Raspberry intended to be.
