See Matt Mullenweg and Elon Musk.

@[email protected] Mullenweg has been a long time piece of shit, it just seems like people outside of Tumblr and WordPress itself are getting a very ugly close up look at how ugly now. This hasn't quite broken containment to the point where people who aren't Very Online are aware of it yet, but it keeps edging closer and closer to that point.
I know you've been putting a lot of work into making a bunch of custom stuff for your WP blog recently, and I hope that somehow the project can weather Mullenweg's bullshit (hopefully even manage to part ways with him, but given what I've heard about the way he's tied into dot com, dot org, and the foundation, that's gonna take a miracle). You and a lot of other WP users are the ones who are going to pay the piper for this nonsense. -

@deathkitten Yeah, it’s really frustrating, and honestly sucks. I’m aware of some of Matt’s Tumblr fuckups, but it feels like all he does is double down on being a shithead recently, while everyone and their mother tells him to shut up and lawyer up.
And yeah, it sometimes has me on the fence as to whether I want to keep using WordPress. For the time being, we’re locked in, and willing to make the most of it. Ghost has been looking extremely attractive recently, though, and I constantly fantasize about building my own Fediverse-first article platform.
Of course, blogs and news sites are deceptively simple. Usually, Content Management Systems do crazy complex things under the hood.

@deathkitten I think what surprises me is how this guy can reasonably think anything he says or does out in the open is even remotely okay? He was hanging out in HN comments the other day, basically incriminating himself over and over again about the nature of .com, .org, and the foundation.
It’s hard not to see this as willful sabotage, which also makes zero sense.
