@freakazoid @Raccoon Good, but if the comment is unacceptable, why didn't you delete it?
Unless the reason is so I can see who boosts or likes the post, so I can block them too.

That is a good reason, but the main reason I'm hesitating is because 1) my first course of action was to look over his account to see if there was anything else, which I haven't found, 2) I sent him a message letting him know that it was unacceptable, but I haven't gotten a response from him, and I wanted to get him a chance to delete it and/or apologize himself, and 3) there are people in the conversation who seem to be trying to engage with this, and I hesitate to disrupt that. (Not having conversations is what brings people further down the alt-right pipeline)But you are right, it is just rude and adds nothing but divisive bullshit to the conversation. I think I will go ahead and delete it now, and have the conversation quietly when he gets on.

@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] At least on the instance software we use if a note is deleted the reports sent in containing that url will no longer correspond to anything. this is immensely frustrating because it means the rest of the admin team cannot see what went down. i very rarely delete notes (I prefer making the author delete them) because of this. But also we don't really have people complaining about pronouns and labels such as "Cis" or "Het" because well i mean just look at the domain name.

@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] also in certain cases this may just full on confuse the user, who might post the same comment multiple times afterwards and cause more of a problem. it's better to just let them know about the rule breaking content with a direct link instead of screenshots and trying to deal with that mess of "but i didn't say that!".

Thanks, I was just coming back to say, there seems to be some pressure for me to leave it up for a bit longer, just for this reason. I went ahead and left myself reports on the couple people who liked / boosted it.Once again, I want to reiterate that neither me nor the admin (who has seen this) think this was the kind of post we want to platform, we are just doing some due diligence before we delete it.
Sorry it's taking time.

@freakazoid You know you could have reported it so the admins could have taken care of the user. Not everyone has time to look at posts 24/7

By the way, I deleted the post a while back, so your link doesn't go anywhere. (I think the user left also: last activity was that post) -

Yeah, as I stated, we didn't even get a report until someone who isn't in either of these threads sent one in. After that, I gave the user 24 hours to delete it himself, because this is the only time he's posted anything like that as far as I could tell, and pretty much everyone from the US has been on edge since the election. We started dealing with it within an hour of someone reporting it.
