Anyone have a pattern they like for deploying small apps to a Synology with minimal fuss? I’d love a Heroku-style (“git push synology”) workflow, or something GitHub-actions-based. Basically I want to be able to treat my Synology like a tiny PaaS in my office.

@jacob I have not done this yet on my synology as I have other servers at home, but I would use docker & watchtower like I do on them. ( https://containrrr.dev/watchtower/ )

@scanner mmm yes, I remember giving watchtower a try some years ago and not being able to get it to work for whatever reason. I should take another crack at it, it does seem like it’s pretty close to what I want.

@jacob @scanner definitely recommend using watchtower with a hosted/ paid docker repo; or setting the check interval to something high.

It will eat through your pull limits on dockerhub free like nothing else
