I have no illusions that Tuesday SETTLES anything, but my personal anxiety just unclenched a stage or two, after doing the thing.

@genehack I mailed off about a week ago, and the canvassers who visited since? They look visibly unclenched when I share this along with the general shape of my votes.

@randomgeek supposedly in these parts they track your ballot return status and don’t bother you if you’ve already voted.
We never vote early enough for this to matter though …but we also don’t seem to get door knockers, but shit in the mail.

@genehack life in a battleground state, I guess? We get flyers from all sides, but the only ones that come knocking on the door (in our particular Tucson neighborhood) have been for Democrat candidates.
We have the return status thing too. Checked mine and it's "received" which doesn't sound like "counted" but I could be wrong.
Mail around here is not quick, so we moved fairly promptly.

2) our return status thing includes the ability to sign up for email and/or text messages about status changes …which is nice
3) my personal pref is to drop ballots off at the drive-thru box at the local courthouse — which I will do tomorrow morning. Vote-by-mail is great, but there’s something satisfying about handing your ballot off to an election worker! -

@randomgeek when we lived there -- in the naughts -- my graduate advisor described Tucson as "an island of conservatism in a sea of fascism", and I've been flogging that line ever since.
