Obvious neurospicy point ahead.
Looking over my note plan for the next few days, which honestly is really quite good, I ponder my persistent default state of scattered and scrambling.
I then remind the ghost voices of authority figures past that "just get yourself better organized" is not the easy helpful suggestion they thought it was. Sure it gives me better odds of finding the nugget I need, but not in proportion to the work I do collecting these notes.
"Just get organized" or "just apply yourself more" is for #ADHD right up there with "just go for a walk" for depression, and almost as bad as "just go for a walk" for somebody wheelchair-bound.

@randomgeek it's never because we're not trying. we're trying so god damn hard.

@c0debabe "a delight to have in class; if only they applied themselves more" is a triggering phrase for sure.

@randomgeek Having gone through the transition of fully-effective ADHD meds (pun intended) this is 100% accurate.
I can now do the getting-better-organised thing. Having experience on both sides of the divide, I can afffirm that it really is a matter of being able to.

@KatS Agreed! I take meds. Not too much, because my family's long history of self-medicating makes me nervous. So it's definitely not a problem solved kind of thing.
But even though I may not always manage to do A, B, and C in order, I am at least more often aware of their existence and priority.
