This reminds me of my vegetable story.
Early in our marriage, my wife and I were making soup. She was working on the broth while I was cutting up the vegetables. I asked how big she thought the veggies should be, and she answered, "soup sized."
When we moved on to the stage of combining the ingredients into soup, she was surprised at how big the vegetable pieces were. "Those aren't soup sized; those are stew sized!"
I was completely lost. I thought "soup sized" meant that she didn't have a specific size in mind. Who has a vegetable size classification system (VSCS) that includes "soup sized" and "stew sized?"
My wife. My wife has exactly that classification system . . . and now I do also because that's how marriage works. I didn't have a solid VSCS, but I saw the usefulness of hers, and now I fully support the stance that stew vegetables are somewhat larger than soup vegetables. Most people (even bachelor me) would probably agree if they stopped to consider. I just had never done so.
Nota bene: if both partners bring a pre-existing vegetable size classification system to the marriage, this should be discussed and, if necessary, included in the prenuptial agreement.

@wakejagr This is amazing. And I will now be using the term VSCS.
