As an #ActuallyAutistic person who probably also has gender dysphoria, I have always hated ‘shopping’
-
@skinnylatte "Existence as a cis-ish person who got too much unwanted male attention ..." This phrasing is totally me. Maybe "CIS-ish," since my curious phase was brief and shallow.
-
@skinnylatte Buddy, tell me, why do I have to affirm my identity with my choice of anti-perspirant? Why are these products gendered? (Thank gawd they haven't got around to gendering toothpaste. Just a matter of time.)
-
@phaedral I think I’m undecided. I appear cis to most people but I don’t feel that way. But I also don’t feel male.
Maybe nonbinary but that also feels imprecise.
-
@phaedral they’ll probably rebrand the chicken toothpaste for cats. Make it synthetic beef. MEN’S TOOTHPASTE
-
@skinnylatte Who says it has to be precise? Or permanent. Be fluid, be good to you, be good to the people you love, be good to strangers who do you no harm?
-
@phaedral oh, mainly coz I do feel unhappy about appearing as female
But I also don’t like the other options
I’ll just have to make up my own

@skinnylatte what about when you go into a computer hw store? I used to find that comparable to what normal people describe shopping as.

@morten_skaaning an actual argument i got into with someone.
(whenever i am with a dude, people assume i am straight)
taxi driver: are you taking your wife shopping? (we were going to the mall with all the wires and computer things)
male friend: my friend is taking ME wire shopping
