My Threads feed is filled with #Fujifilm users lately, and I'm noticing once in a while some talk about "the full frame effect", and how many seem to wonder at it, and the DoF, and such. And lots of envy.
I've been shooting full frame digital since the original Canon 5D, around 2006, so nearly 20 years now. For me (and a lot of my photo colleagues I chat with), it's normal. We have envy of the medium format digital photographers, those rocking the Fujifilm GFXs and Mamiyas and 'blads.
I guess I "get it". But full frame is very achievable these days on a budget; I've seen 5D MkIIs for like $400, 6Ds for $350, even some Nikon full frames well under $500. If APS-C users have full frame envy, it's a scratch that's easily itched.
OTOH, Medium format - way, way out there still in terms of buy-in cost.
(sidenote: I'd kill for a full frame X100 btw).

@coffeegeek
Medium format is pretty affordable if you shoot film -
@coffeegeek switching from Fuji to canon would be a *huge* change, though, in usability and, well, how damn big the camera is. And of course, the body is the cheap part, it is the glass that gets you.
I’m half tempted to try out one of the mirrorless Nikons+ with the physical controls. But… my Fuji system is basically complete, and I really love it. And I don’t use it anywhere near enough to justify switching again (I swapped from Olympus in 2017, for colors and physical controls)

@jannem @coffeegeek was coming here to say this hehe

@lkanies Oh I hear you on the glass cost! It's the main reason why I'm still sticking with EF and D bodies from Canon, and not migrating to the R system. But I also like the optical viewfinders too
