I am embarrassed

Oh they said it was coz I just gave her 100ml of intravenous fluids, and that adds an extra 0.5 lbs to her body weight (apparently the vet had measured this himself)
Anyway, good for her to get her blood lab results while we are here

@skinnylatte Are those fluids particularly dense? I usually go with the 100ml of water = 100g of weight to estimate volume & weight.
-
@danieldurrans ‘mixture of sodium chloride, sodium lactate, potassium chloride, and calcium chloride in water.’
not sure how that impacts the weight, but maybe
-
@skinnylatte We've got a baby scale at home where we weigh our cats ourselves and track their weight over time, our oldies once a week and the rest once per month. Than you actually have hard data when you're going to the vet, like he lost 10% body weight in 2 weeks. https://fosstodon.org/@madalex/111466391515334761

@madalex thanks! Great idea
