️Another person stopped me in the hallway and said, "You don't remember me, huh?" My memory is bad, but he looked familiar. He said, "I've been at Google 7 years. On the day I interviewed, you stopped me in the hallway, talked to me, and told me not to be nervous, that I got this. That really helped!"
Someone else today told me that they completed a program for high school students that I exec sponsored, and it changed everything. They chose CS as a major. Now they're a PM!

There aren't a ton of Black people in tech. But I feel happy knowing that I helped some of them either find tech, or be successful in it.
The first person was going to pass his interview anyway.
️ He didn't get smarter or more prepared in the hallway. But I'm glad that I helped him feel better!The second person was going to be successful anyway.
️ Maybe she wouldn't be a PM or in tech, but she is clearly a high performing, driven, collaborative person. But I'm glad that she enjoyed the program!
