I like my Google Pixel phone pretty well, and have since the Nexus 5, but the notification I got today literally titled "Buy new device" is pretty damn far over the line.

(I am not making this up.)

@mattdm same. Had a nexus 1, nexus 5 (probably the best) and several pixels. But I'm not buying another Google device since my most recent experience where the camera was faulty and I got really atrocious customer service trying to resolve it

@mattdm are we talking about a recent pixel, or about a Pixel Gen 1 saying "put me out of my misery"?
(Though I do agree, over the line)

7 Pro. So.... pretty recent in my view, at least!

@mattdm I ditched my loyalty to the Nexus/Pixel line when the charging port broke on my 2XL and I was told that repairing it was near impossible. I've since switched to a #Fairphone which has replaceable parts you can manage yourself... including swappable batteries!
I'm never buying anything else.

@mattdm Wipe it and install @GrapheneOS. Best mobile OS on the market today.

I'm glad to see they're still around!
Unfortunately, they don't sell to the US. There's a company called Murena which _does_ sell them, but the 5 isn't through regulatory whatever yet. Also, the added company makes me dubious about long-term.

@mattdm Why would you have a Pixel but not use GrapheneOS? It's the Fedora in the mobile OS world.

I like the concept, but I'd have to get another phone for work and I hate carrying stuff around.
