Why is it that some toots with links show only a url, while others show anything from a preview (title + art) to the actual content?
With youtube and TikTok links, sometimes it's just a link with no hint as to what it's about, other times I can see the title and first frame or even watch the video directly in Mastodon
I want all my posts to offer full previews so that no one has to click on a link blind. Sometimes it happens automagically, other times I have to kludge it
Please help

One ingredient of the puzzle: it depends entirely on the client. The web interface and all the apps can make different decisions about this. So even on the same post, not all your readers are seeing the same thing.A second ingredient: it changes. When you first post, if your server doesn’t have a preview, it fetches one. If no preview appears, reload in a minute and it might be there.
