Like you can have empathy for someone and still think that a particular behavior is out of line.

I similarly don't know why "don't deadname and misgender people" is a controversial position.
I don't understand how "threatening to have someone stalked" is considered acceptable behavior.
I don't get how "people responding negatively to the above actions means that _they_ are the villains."
I don't get it.

@hrefna when this network is small, a lot of trans people who found Twitter too stifling used mastodon.social and other early servers as a safe place to post their fantasies about guillotining TERFs and so forth
it makes sense to me that posting such a fantasy about a subgroup of trans people would be over a line, since I'm pretty sure mass killings are getting started against trans people in the USA but I also understand why that would confuse some people, since the same thing against not-trans women -- also an oppressed class, though it's not the same -- was condoned here
