EU. Please. You have to tax the rich and spend it on everyone else. That is the ~only~ winning strategy to secure yourselves against internal fascism.
Show us how it's done.
You're essentially the only thing left standing that's got potential to weather the effects of a wave of fascist super-powers (USA, Russia, China) IF you act now.
I feel like we've been in a cold war for decades, and - frankly - we in the UK and US lost. Putin and co played our systems well, barely firing shots, and won.

@sarajw Everyone is - but the EU is still the "last best hope". But it has to stop walking the same path the US and UK have. It has to choose differently.
The EU ~has~ to avoid internalised fascism, and I honestly think the only way to do it is to "keep the people happy enough to not need to blame others", and the only way to do that is to tax the rich and spend it on the people.
Fascism is inevitable if the wider people feel poorer and less secure than they want to be.
