How early can I get the next c3/GPN/etc. tickets? Is there a Better Way? Do I just need to set daily reminders in my calendar for the 2 months leading up to the event? xD

@theresnotime my personal recommendation is shitpost for enough people to recognize your day and then ask if someone has any as soon as the vouchers are announced. Worked for me at least. Or, you know, a few friends and the open pre sale. Maybe your local Hackerspace has vouchers?

For c3, assuming it works the same as last year, here's what you have to know.
First there's the pre-sale period where you can buy a ticket early using a voucher. Someone might have a voucher for you to get a ticket early, but they are more sparsd. Angels get two vouchers, so they have one to share. Spaces get some number of vouchers, these vouchers create new ones when used until quota is reached, sometimes they have too many.
This is actually a really good system that ensures members of the community have a good shot at getting to Congress. As an angel, I'll probably have a voucher, but I can't guarantee I'll give it to anyone in particular yet, since I might have a lot of demand. But we'll see! I would really want to see you at Congress after all. I also know someone who apparently had too many space vouchers last year.
After pre-sale, you can try your luck as the main sale lottery. Tickets go on sale at a specific time, you have to reload the page at that exact moment, solve a simple puzzle, and you're placed in a queue. Ideally, do this with some other people and keep the one with the best position in the queue. I really have to insist on having to refresh the page at the exact moment, if you're 10 seconds late, you certainly won't get it. That's why it's a lottery.
Finally, there's after sale. Many attendees buy two tickets to share one, or change their mind on going. You could buy a ticket second hand. Because this community is cool, they usually get resold at the same price as the buying price, in my experience.
So ask a few times during presale, if it doesn't work, try your luck at main sale, and then if you still didn't get it, ask again during after sale. -
