Dear Americans,
Vote for Kamala Harris even though both candidates will continue to arm Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people because, yes, the alternative is worse and, yes, because your country – and others like it (the UK and Germany spring to mind) – is so morally bankrupt and undemocratic that your political system doesn’t even leave you the option of not supporting a genocide.
But don’t you dare stop there and pat yourselves on the back. (1/3)

@aral I think this just proves that partisan politics is the exact problem we have. Decision making isn't about fixing problems or actually doing what people want, but pursuading and polarizing the populus.
Politicians don't care jack about what should be done, and say what is needed to appeal to the largest group of people to win a vote.

@aral Not only is there basically a gridlock in american politics, it's just obvious that we've reached a point where it seriously is 2 parties tryna appeal to the largest group.
We literally saw Donald Trump say "I love black men, I've gone through the roof with black men" during his speech in Nevada.

@sirobsidian @aral Unless or until Citizens United is overturned, very little will change.
It's a shitty #Republican policy that everyone should know about, but doesn't. It floods elections with dark money and enables Republican obstruction. They don't do anything besides obstruct the government. It's been at least 2 decades of this crap. Dem supermajority for longer than 3 months would create progress. -
@aral A vote for Trump is a vote for Thiel of Palantir as a shadow president of USA. Thiel / Palantir created #lavender AI which is currently deployed in Israel and used by IDF for the task of targeting and executing Palestinians and Lebanese, without human oversight. Peter Thiel is singlehandedly the main culprit why the death and infrastructure toll is so high.

@originlbookgirl @aral The solution to the partisan politics problem isn't partisan politics, even though in the upcoming election there is a clear wrong answer. The problem is fixed via the US getting rid of the entire partisan political system, it only polarizes people, it's unbelievable that politics right now is basically "vote (this party) if you hate minority group" and "vote (this other party) if you think they should be shown basic human rights"

@sirobsidian @aral Getting rid of the entire political structure isn't going to happen.
The "burn it all down" school of thought is irresponsible, immature, reckless, and destructive.
Again, until Citizens United is overturned-- nothing will change. -

@originlbookgirl @aral I think such a change would be gradual, no sane person would re-do the entire political system in one fall sweep.
Let me say this, by saying that getting rid of the system is "irresponsible, immature, reckless and destructive" you're just advocating for the status quo and maintaining the partisan system.
