Does #GetFediHired work for freelance jobs?
I am open to a new Python or Django gig, effective immediately, for up to four days a week (~32 hours).
I am also skilled in HTML, CSS, and JS as progressive enhancement, and have accessibility in mind.
I work remotely from The Netherlands. Invoicing works best within the EU or the US, but outside these regions is not off the table.

@paupowpow Thank you!
I got the idea from a random tip about someone who appreciated when a potential hiree told them they weren't the best for a particular part of the job; it made the interviewer more confident in the person's other abilities.

@mahryekuh low key jealous of your domain name. Brilliant way to deal with the pronunciation of that pesky “ij”.
Good luck with the job hunt!

@martijn Thank you! It’s not just my domain name, it’s my company name. The inspiration was (unsurprisingly) me using that writing to explain to non-Dutch folks how to pronounce my name in English.

@mahryekuh that’s amazing
What’s the worst foreigners have butchered your name? Usually Martin is fine for me but I’ve had it happen on multiple occasions that Indian folks want to produce the “j”s in my name as in DJ.

@martijn The way macOS’s VoiceOver pronounces it is hilarious, like “Mari-Jix”?
Some form of “Mary”, “Marie”, or “Mariek” is the usual thing, or just sheer panicked noises.

@martijn Still better than my former English teacher, who had Canadian family and a partner named “Freek”.
RIP your name too, haha.
