I use three banks, so three apps. One app won't connect unless I disable my VPN. I complained.

"The reason is that VPN will disguise user's IP address, which prevents the bank to distinguish whether the login request is initiated from the genuine user or a stranger."

Umm what? Am I missing something? Have spoofable IPs become a foundation of banking security? What about when my ISP uses dynamic IP? What happens when I connect via my telco, not ISP? OS, using a different SIM?

@thefathippy VPN use has given me all kinds of grief with banking or making online payments, even if I can otherwise prove my identity with 2FA. It's frustrating.
