I REALLY don't want to join #Bluesky and love it here on the fedi.

@Tbsa that's a feature, not a bug
-
@codemonkeymike linux, fedora, specifically.
-
@codemonkeymike preach!
-
@carlt4 love it. Followed and great taste
-
@codemonkeymike @cassidy I'm a bit of a noob, but I'm a geek and I'm interested!
-
@codemonkeymike I have been here for a couple of years and I find plenty of people to interact with and to follow for good information and not as much Snark and hate that I found on FB and the twit.
-
-
@Beachbum yup.. i'd agree with you on the lack of snark.. as long as you alt your images!
-
@codemonkeymike good to have you as part of the community! Have you considered Following those hashtags? Might be a good way to find other folks who are posting about those same topics.
-
@tokenwizard I sure do follow those hash tags.. love that feature!

@codemonkeymike I like elixir quite a bit. It took a while to get used to functional programming, but now it's hard to switch back to OOP sometimes when I just want to compose a bunch of functions together. I've been using elixir for about 5 years now, so it feels pretty natural to me.
I really just enjoy learning new paradigms and seeing what I like and don't like about them.
-
@brainofdane that's cool. I look forward to it feeling natural
-
@codemonkeymike I‘m currently leaening elixir and i‘m more and more impressed each day! (And i love Linux and FreeBSD since the mid 90ies)
-
@maru love to hear that. I'm just starting with elixir too, coming from PHP.

@codemonkeymike Howdy! I'm a web dev and worked in Elixir for ~5 years. I mostly post about Haskell these days (though my day job is React/C# ) or just programming/Linux generally.
-
@codemonkeymike Elixir dev here
-
@katafrakt @codemonkeymike in general I find more elixir devs there but they don't talk, they just publish.
While here, people reply.
QUALITY over QUANTITY
-
@maikel yes, I think I mostly agree with this article https://www.joanwestenberg.com/the-matthew-effect-of-post-twitter-social-networks/ @codemonkeymike
-
@katafrakt good to be connected!
-
@katafrakt I never thought about it from that perspective Pawel but pretty much yeah, the Elixir starters packs don't work for me at all. Most of the people on them don't ever reply to anything at all, they treat followers as cattle.
Do I care if I am talking to a heavy-weight Elixir dev or not? Not really. I want connections and following any of those guys feels like just being fed ads.
Zero interaction, just "look what I've done...btw buy my product".
