2/ on cover songs.
Which is of course one of the things Distrokid upsells themselves with, the fact that they handle the licensing of cover songs for you (for an additional fee of course). Needless to say I am really disappointed, and just wanted to put this out there so others are aware that there are potential issues between Apple and Distrokid over the handling of cover songs.

@GuitarSith This stinks. Whoever you got the cover song license from should fight Distrokid/Apple on your behalf, shouldn’t they?

@muz4now
License was obtained by Distrokid on my behalf, so they are the holders of it. I’m guessing that Apple has some sort of issue with the way Distrokid is handling the distribution of royalties in some countries (possibly because of the way that different countries laws are written regarding copyright?). But that issue doesn’t extend to streaming, as the album is available on Apple Music worldwide. Cannot find anything online to explain it, and neither company is helping. -

@GuitarSith Ugh! Yet another case of the systems that purport to support us are roadblocks.
