Maybe it’s because an AI judge is meant to sometimes send people to prison - an AI car is /never/ intended to hit a pedestrian (outside of trolley problems at least)
@simon@chris@jacob intention has some relevance, but not enough for me to justify either until they’re proven reliable through rigorous testing in controlled environments
@d@chris@jacob Waymo's testing is pretty rigorous, they've been iterating on this stuff for over 15 years now with 40 million miles of on-road experience (most of that with safety drivers)
