If you can't make your space actually safe, don't market it as a safe space! If you can't include alt text that actually gives any information about the picture at all, don't put alt text! Stop pretending to care about marginalized people if you're not willing to put in the fucking work!

Like I get that the fuck cars reddit bot and whatever doesn't generally have the ability to create meaningful alt text without a human having to intervene. But it was a choice on the part of the developer to include "alt text" that is literally just the title of the post. Probably because they noticed allies are more likely to spread those posts when they think they're accessible. But. They're. Fucking. Not. Accessible.
