Random fun fact: the discord avatar circles are inline SVGs that include the actual avatar as an externally linked image (a webp)

I downloaded my avatar so I looked at their HTML.
Fun fact: I use the same avatar on every website, but I don't have any canonical version of it. I'm always grabbing it off windows 95 again or off another site (rarely, because so many corrupt it)
-
Unfun fact: this isn't as silly as it sounds at first. Because sites have wildly different rules/sizes/shapes for avatars, I basically have to adjust the avatar for every single site anyway. A single "good" version wouldn't help as much as you might expect.
-
And I'm of the age where I say "avatar". I would say "icon" or "pfp" if I was a different age.

@[email protected] We have two versions of our main icon which are slightly different depending on if the website does square or circle cropping.
