I want someone to make a nice simple monitor with like 7 inputs (2xDP, 2xhdmi, DVI, VGA, and composite) and then to have mechanical radio buttons on the front to switch between them.

95% of what I want is just to be free from "whoops, one of the computers turned off the display for 2 seconds while rebooting, clearly you want to switch back to HDMI input #1"

@foone These guys are your friend: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BR7QTYWS/
You can even reflash them over I2C or w/e if you want a different EDID.

@indigoparadox I've got a bunch of those on all my permanently connected machines, but just not the temporary ones, which is the problem

@foone Then I would recommend an HDMI matrix, but they're unreasonably expensive.

@indigoparadox then we're back to the problem that half the time I'm not plugging in HDMI
-
@foone and a lamp in each button for "signal detected", bonus if it's NE2
-
@yuubi yes!
-
@foone CHANNEL SELECTOR KNOB!
-
@foone Can that be disabled?
-
@kaijuu oh that'd be nice. Good kathunk noise

@Genstar what, the autoswitching? Not on my monitor. Maybe if I open it up and dump the ROM and hack it, but that sounds hard
