YMMV, but if you use Microsoft Office and are concerned about its AI and use of private documents for AI training, I’ve happily used @libreoffice’s Writer for years, exchanging documents with Microsoft Office users.

It is available for Windows and macOS, as well as Linux.
You don’t have to uninstall Microsoft Office to try it - the two will run side by side just fine.

@neil @libreoffice Libreoffice is also available to run from a USB. I highly recommend it and donate to support it.

@Chiquidrakula @neil @libreoffice If you are looking at this route maybe consider a #debian live USB; it is like plugging in a new computer and it doesn't affect the existing Windows machine you have in any way. Unless you decide to go with the new thing...
