At the moment I'm committed to the #Fediverse platform and to #CoSocial, our member-owned co-op instance, for my primary online social life. But at the same time I’d like #Bluesky to succeed, because the ATProtocol is technically interesting and having alternatives is good. Having said that, this doesn’t make me happy. I just don’t see how Bluesky is financially sustainable.

@timbray I actually don't see how alternative PROTOCOLS are good.
The point of protocols is that alternatives can work together and you don't get locked into one. Having multiple protocols waters this down.

@danbrotherston In 1990-ish it was good that there was Gopher and www and I seem to think some other alternative striving to be the on-ramp to the net.
