What mode of transportation did you use for your last trip of about 250km?

@evan I haven't done a 250 km trip in a while; many shorter than that, and a few much longer.
If you're asking what I would normally do for a trip shorter than Montréal/Toronto, the answer is almost certainly drive.

@murph I hear you, no problem.
-
@evan I think you should clarify you're thinking of 250 km round trip.
-
@mpjgregoire yeah, I think a trip to Boston or Toronto is different from a trip to Sherbrooke or Ottawa.

For me, it's car (EV). We have a house in the Eastern Townships that's about 135km from our home in Montreal. We can take the train to Drummondville, about 20 minutes away by car, but that only works if someone is already in the house to come pick you up.

@evan Last trip was from Victoria to Vancouver; 252 km there and back again. 92km by ferry (diesel), and 160km by car (electric).

@evan Magog or elsewhere? We moved out of Mouréal > 6 yrs ago and now we cringe every time we need to drive back and cross the island to see our daughters and grandaughter.
If only the REM had cheap overnight parking.

@nantel our house is in Richmond; it's about halfway between Sherbrooke and Drummondville on 55.

@evan I've read the FAQ, and I accept that you feel comfortable with ambiguity.
In this case I think it would have been worth clarifying though, since you were apparently thinking about travelling to a destination 125 km away, while I thought you meant one 250 km away. It's a major difference, and others might have been confused.
125 km by car is hardly even travelling in my mind (unless I'm stopping overnight for some reason); it's like going to the local ski hill or to pick apples.
