@AlisonCreekside @chris These people will scream until they turn blue about wasting taxpayer’s dollars and then go to Florida to kiss the ring in hope that Trump can be reasoned with or subdued enough by flattery and attention that he won’t fuck us over. But he will anyway.
If I was CSIS I’d be keeping an eye on those conversations. I wonder if the subject of Alberta joining the US has come up yet.

@chris Remember 5 months ago Danielle did that brutal 1 hour 40 minute sitdown invu w Jordan Peterson in which they both agreed there's a deficit of CO2 in the earth's atmosphere but luckily burning #FossilFuels can fix that.

@AlisonCreekside Unfortunately, this doesn't meet the legal criteria for treason.

@MayInToronto @AlisonCreekside something about oaths of loyalty to the crown in a military context or similar oaths of office.
I wonder if Chandra Arya is getting close by promising & advocating to abolish the monarchy, contrary to his oath of loyalty.
There have been various attempts to remove the crown loyalty from oaths for Quebec MNAs etc and they have failed.

@johnefrancis @AlisonCreekside I don't see that happening with respect to the monarchy.
I hope it'd be more like this: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/yukon-oath-of-allegiance-amended-1.7397301

@MayInToronto @AlisonCreekside I'm not sure about territorial municipal office, but altering the oath for MP or MPPs requires a constitutional amendment. The hard one with 6 provinces representing >50% of the population. That's why Quebec MNAs are still swearing it.
But generally nobody wants to make too big of a deal of it so it hasn't been pursued agressively by anyone thru the courts.
