recently learned that my regional gender identity clinic:
- insists on meeting your parents separately, even if you're an adult
- will make plenty of space in the 2–3 years long evaluation to advocate on behalf of transphobic parents, to try and convince you that you aren't trans, so it can't be gender dysphoria
- will indefinitely pause the evaluation of whether you have gender dysphoria unless your BMI is under 30 (because otherwise that's a more likely reason for why you don't like your body)
- will also pause it indefinitely if you are depressed, have symptoms of PTSD/cPTSD or other trauma symptoms (on top of pausing it for signs of undiagnosed autism, but I already knew about that)
- will deep dive into your childhood off-the-cuff conclude stuff like "you're not a man, you're just trying to be the good husband your mom never had" (literal quote)
- will ask you to draw men and women, without explaining why, but likely as a Rorschach projection thing

I'm likely going to have my first meeting early next year. I feel horrible about it.
but I also feel more prepared than most people probably are. it's not going to be a nice 3 years of fighting off their persuasion attempts though

I can keep being a nice person if you please don't make "helpful suggestions" like "just do DIY" in response to this.
I am very knowledgeable about my own circumstances. there are seven things that can help:
- resources on how to get through the gatekeeping
- HRT (️)
- money
- money
- money
- money
- money
but since I'm on benefits they'll just reduce my benefits with the amount of money I get—and if I don't tell them it's fraud.
and I'm 26 months into HRT. i started out with GenderGP after they managed to get the Swedish ban lifted (but only for transfem HRT). but GGP was too expensive and i ended up with a huge debt to my landlord (who's also my ex and co-parent). after that I inherited a stash of gel and androcur that lasted 9 months. I was going to go back to GenderGP, but that's when they turned to shit. so now I'm on DIY subq since February—and I'm not mentioning anyone without prior consent but thank you!!! ️️️
we are not free.

@jasmine Which part of Sweden are you in? Would getting your prescriptions in Denmark (which is, strangely, a short bus ride away from Malmö) be an option for you?
Also, the European Union has been working on a common electronic prescription system. Germany is known to be lagging behind, because ... reasons; Sweden is likely going to be an early adopter. At some point within a year, it might become feasible for you to get your HRT prescribed in, say, Spain, over telemedicine, and fulfilled in Sweden.
