23. I always do a leap of joy when my badge unlocks the aquarium door in the morning before we open. I run to the open sea exhibit and also say hi to the octopus.
My office is unfortunately a 7 min walk from it but I sometimes have meetings on the main campus (the aquarium itself).

@skinnylatte I started following because Iām interested in hearing about your experience at the MB Aquarium. I was a Dive Master at the Ga Aquarium for 7 years and it was absolutely the best job Iāve had. Hard work but so rewarding.
Weād take people diving and snorkeling in the Ocean Voyager exhibit with whale sharks, huge Manta Rays and 1000s of other fish.
I hope you always look forward to going to work.

@DrewCommins thank you so much!! I hope to meet our dive team soon. Personally going to pickup my scuba training (dropped off after advanced PADI) and try to do some kelp conservation work outside of work. Astonishing marine life here. Just feel so lucky to experience all this. Thank you for sharing!

@skinnylatte yesss. I am so happy for you with this. My terrible high school/ college retail job (everyone should have one) was in the gift shop at the Baltimore aquarium, and the thing that made it bearable was coming in early or staying late to say hello to some of the animals in a quiet nearly empty building. Especially octopus.

24. Coworker: I hope itās ok if we eat a brisk lunch. Iāve arranged for you to see the sea otter feeding behind the scenes.
UM, YES???
-
@skinnylatte Im so glad I started following you just at the right moment, living the dream aquatic!
-
@jollysea it really feels like it
-
Well AktchuLLy, I believe the correct answer was "Why can't we dine *with* the sea otters?"
SO. Freakin'. Cool. -
@helplessduck Iāve seen how much they eat. I couldnāt possibly afford that amount of sashimi, nor eat as much as they do. Hahaha
-
@skinnylatte Your posts about your work make me feel sad to go sit at my desk and sit through meetings... but they also let me live vicariously, so please continue!
-
@m I have lots of meetings too.. sometimes there are animals around

25. We are having a great taco truck come in for staff lunch. I still pick sea otters. Even though I really love tacos. I think I can eat 3 tacos in a few minutes
-
26. I am in a meeting for āsea-niorā leadership
-
27. Someone on my team took me on a walking tour. There are many office buildings. I walked by the space for the seafood watch program and they had signs like āyouāre jawsome!!ā And āthanks for all the kelp!ā
-
28. I went to meet some of the people who work on the science and they were like āsounds like youāre really aligned with our work!ā And thatās the nicest thing anyone can say to me (my boss sent out a welcome email in which he talked about how Iām really into birds and whales)

29. There was an internal division competition called Punderdome.
