I have an #EMFcamp badge!I have crashed the #EMFcamp badge
-
@Edent have you updated. The latest version is v1.3.0
-
@lkw

Some progress!
The badges have updated - but they really don't want to connect to WiFi.
Using 2.4GHz.
Might try a SSID with no password. -
@Edent potential dumb suggestion: while messing with mine in the field I discovered that if itโs plugged in and charging I had a nightmare with WiFi. As soon as I unplugged the cable and rebooted it was fine.
For what itโs worth mine is connected happily one one of those nightmarish 2g/5g dual ssids -
@PeterEbenezer good tip - thanks!
I've unplugged and rebooted, but it still won't connect to an SSID - even without a password.
Do you know if there's any way to view the logs or see what it thinks the SSID is?
-
@Edent I donโt afraid, as my profile says Iโm simply an idiot that rubs things together until they work. Provided you are on 1.6.0 then the bottom of the settings page on the device says what WiFi/password itโs trying to access? Iโve still not plugged mine into my pc yet to start (trying) to tinkerโฆ
-
@Edent oh, awesome thing! Is it somehow related/compatible to the @flow3rbadge?
-
@T_X no idea. You can see more at https://tildagon.badge.emfcamp.org/
-
@Edent @PeterEbenezer if you use the โoption 2โ method on https://tildagon.badge.emfcamp.org/using-the-badge/connect-to-wifi/ to set up the wifi, you can also call the relevant settings.get methods to retrieve what it thinks the ssid/password are
I had to try a few times to get the password to save properly, but itโs been fine since
-
@lpbkdotnet Thanks.
I've been trying that, but it just gives an error.

Woohoo! Finally ready for #EMF2026
-
First working experiment was a bit too glitch art for my liking!
-
But I am rather pleased with this result.
Currently only draws a static QR, converted from a pixel array rather than an image.
Will try to add some flourishes - and will document the process.

-
@Edent I just got some TPU, time to print a wrist strap!

@Edent what I wish I could code is that the lights "ticked" seconds, lighting individually around the face, and a the screen showing an analogue watch face.
