Here's a curious little #StarWars fact.
A props auction showed off a number of technical drawings from the Star Wars franchise. Here's a detail from "Jedi".
Notice the name of the ?
"Chapter III Productions Ltd."

The company, Chapter III, was formed in July 1978.
You can see all the formation documents etc at https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/01379915/
That's shortly after Kasdan was hired to rewrite the Brackett' / Lucas draft.

Chapter III was owned entirely by Lucasfilm, as made clear by the 1987 accounts.

Which, of course, ultimately ended up being owned by Disney.

What I find interesting is that the #ReturnOfTheJedi production company was only closed in 2015.
Shortly before the release of "The Force Awakens".
I don't pretend to understand "Hollywood Accounting" (or any sort of accounting). I just think it's neat that a whole bunch of #StarWars financial trivia is available at https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/01379915/filing-history

But, of course, there's also a "Chapter II Productions"!

Incorporated a month earlier - but with much of the same lineage. And closed at the same time as Chapter III.

@Edent tax write off. The company was still selling the TV/toy rights and other things, while also doing it's best to make a loss. Also probably paying Sir Alec Guinness (and his estate) his cut of the royalties

@ben looking at the accounts, I don't think that is the case. They only seem to have a few thousand £ at any one time, and not much trade.
