Managed to get one of each of the new Gigantamax Pokémon yesterday.
I did have fun and I appreciated the challenge. It forced the local players I met up with to actually talk and strategize. But I can't see how a more casual player, or a rural player, would get these. I don't know what the solution is, but the feature is very inaccessible.
Also, 3 new Pokémon in one weekend was difficult to do as a free to play player. It would be easy to spend a lot of money on this feature, just to feel like you can join in, which doesn't sit well for me.

It looks like Niantic has listened to feedback on this.
For next weekend's Gigantamax Gengar release we're getting big stardust rewards, a slightly better catch rate, and a decrease in difficulty when it comes to defeating the raid boss.

I've managed to solo a few dynamax Beldum over the last couple of days.
My Greedent is proving a handy little tank to fill up the max metre without taking too much damage. Then I'm switching in a Charizard when I Dynamax to make the most of its fire move.
Fingers crossed I'll have a decent Metagross for the local meetups this weekend.

@SofaSeduction ah I’m so far behind on this, I’ll have to come spend a day doing mons with you soon!

@kestral you'll be fine, have you completed any of the 'To The Max' research yet?

@SofaSeduction A little, but it's slow going!
