Selling three of my #KeyboardIO keyboards.
-
EDIT: These have all been spoken for and purchased. Thank you Fediverse for providing better homes than a garage sale would have!
Selling three of my #KeyboardIO keyboards. They all work dandy and have been much loved — and I’m keeping my Model 100 —but we’re moving. Maybe these can be much loved by someone else.
Asking USD $125 each for the Model 01 split keyboards, and $60 for the 44-key Atreus.
Price includes full keyboard, carrying case, and US shipping. I can throw in a USB-C connector if you need one.
$15 gets you the blank white Model 01 keycaps, or $10 if you’re also getting a keyboard.
Message me if you’re interested!

@randomgeek The little one on the right is a bit tempting, but... I know I wouldn't actually use it.
I love tiny keyboards, but anything smaller than a 60% just doesn't work for me. I need the []\ keys and what not.
-
@minego Using the Atreus is an experience. Some folks take right to it. I managed to build up to ~75WPM on Typing of the Dead, but it didn't quite click for me.
-
@minego at the same time it's the one I had to think hard about whether to sell or not. I don't have any other keyboard with that form factor, and it's a fun challenge sometimes.
-
@randomgeek It does look like a lot of fun, and I'm sure for non-coding tasks it would actually be pretty nice...
But, I really don't need to spend any more money on keyboards right now...
But, it is cute, and I like the idea of supporting a friend, especially when you're moving and all...
I'll think about it a bit. If it hasn't sold in a few days, ping me

@minego @randomgeek aterus work surprising well with the layers system, even for coding (but you need some thinking about you language most use symbol + ide shortcut) having them a keypress away is so lovely
(Aterus is missing a trackball in the middle to be perfect) -

@randomgeek @kazord I'm sure with enough practice I could manage. I'm not worried at all about the key positions, but my brain has been telling my pinky to go to the upper right to type brackets for a LONG time and I'm not sure I can convince it to try anything else.
I'd have to map similar layers on my other keyboards so I could use the same motions everywhere. That's not a problem though. It just means updating my QMK layout, and my ZMK layout and writing another interception tools plugin...
-
@randomgeek if one of the Model01s is still available I’ll take it.
-
@randomgeek What switches are in the Atreus, and are they hot swapable?
If they are clicky or I can put in clicky ones then I'll take it.
It occurred to me that it is a perfect companion for my steam deck.
-
@randomgeek (unless it is already spoken for that is)
-
@minego cherry browns, resistance like a clicky but quiet. Kailh. Swappable. There is tentative other interest, also based on key switches
-
@randomgeek That works for me. I have spare box navies, so swappable is all I need.
-
@minego sweet. Preferred payment venue from amongst these?
Venmo, Zelle, Google Pay, Paypal, and I think yes I have an account on Cash App.
-
@minego @randomgeek @kazord fwiw I have found that the different keyboard shape is sufficient for my brain to categorize it into a different slot in the muscle memory data structure. Two of the same shape with different layouts is a mindfuck still.

I knew they'd go quicker here but holy crap sudden dizzying flurry of activity over the last let's see 35 minutes.
-
Had to go to three shipping places and ended up spending double what I'd budgeted (brain-soft moment and I let UPS upsell me), but keyboards are shipped!
Now to give everybody their tracking numbers.
-
@randomgeek Tooting (slowly, haltingly...) from the Model 01 right now!
Not quite sure what to tell macOS here though...
