So this took longer than I thought but now Dept. of Education has been taken over like other agencies. This is one of the biggest priorities for the right-wingers since the John Bircher’s promoted disbanding it in the late 50’s. This is most serious step to destroying public schools in the US.
They want all schooling to be charter schools and private schools receiving the public school’s funding. It has become so extreme a plan that last spring I shared articles locally from a public school district threatened by THIRTY- SEVEN private and charter schools within 5 square miles, all able to siphon funding from the public school’s district via “school vouchers” to parents removing children from public to private.
