I'm not a political genius, but I also remember that Harris ran for president in 2020.

She got 884 votes and dropped out because she didn't connect with anybody. (then Biden picked her as VP to exclusively piss off the Warren/Bernie voters who got over 13 millions primary votes together).

So I don't know why people expected a different result in 2024.
