A just society would not allow this kind of extreme wealth to exist. But I’ll take some taxes as an interim

@liamvhogan That’s a very polite way to say “fuck off you utter parasite”
-
@MattHatton ‘you can’t take it with you’

@liamvhogan I think it’s brave for old mate to volunteer for the slicey boi. You have to respect it.

Every time I read a story like this I remember the pot of >$200 that I was in on a full house and got beaten with… a higher full house. That’s my definition of excess wealth

@liamvhogan will be a real shame when this guy has a stroke at 69

@liamvhogan "If you are particularly determined to pay less tax, perhaps you could consider making charitable donations as a way to reduce your overall wealth."
No, not like that!

If this man has a rental property worth $2m and he's renting it for $600/week that's a yield (I make it) of 1.5%, which doesn't allow for rates, agent costs, let alone maintenance, so it's likely he's actually losing money being a landlord.
This has got to be a leg pull

@liamvhogan he was negative gearing it to reduce his tax but have recently paid off the loan which is what had caused him to write the letter.
