Anyone have any experience with LibreWolf, the fork of Firefox? I've been using Firefox for decades and am considering switching.

since that means I have to manually and regularly check the website for updates, I have asked them to show the current version at the top of the front page - currently it is several clicks away
no positive response yet
- but aside from all that I still use it, not because I enjoy this experience, but because I want to stuck a finger up to adtech

@rwg I'm a fan. Using it basically just feels like Firefox, but with better (more private) defaults so you don't have to change a million things yourself.
I think my only complaints about the privacy/security defaults are:
- It enforces OCSP hard-fail by default, which periodically causes HTTPS connections to fail because the OCSP server fails to respond or something. Restarting the browser usually solves this for me, but you can also just disable this setting.
- It enables privacy.resistFingerprinting by default, which (among other possible annoyances) enforces light theme on websites. (This is true of regular Firefox too if you enable that setting.) You can also disable this if you prefer.

@trashcatofficial I've already run into issue #1. Issue number two might be solved via an extension, perhaps?

@rwg Dark Reader works reasonably well to achieve dark mode with RFP enabled, and that's what I use when I need it.

Wow. I guess Firefox heard me talking about LibreWolf, since Firefox just now turned back on all the crud I shut off -- Pocket recommendations, sponsored garbage on my home page, fucking Facebook as a recommended link.
I'm noping out of Firefox for good, I think.

Makes me kind of sad to say that. I've used Firefox since ~2006 or so. Maybe earlier.
