Update:
I will soon dump v3 in favor of v4.

V4 will feature major improvements in terms of performance, stability and usability. Furthermore, it will be featuring an updated version of the current OneSignal plugin.

I am simply not happy with the browser compatability and plugin eco system.
Furthermore, I finally found a forum software with a 100% native app for iOS and Android.

Call it personal preference, but I feel somehow better with it.

However, once I have completed switching to the new forum software I will share my experiences to improve NodeBB.

This app helps a lot. It works well with OneSignal notifications as well. But one doubt. When sending notification from OneSignal, when user clicks on the notification in mobile, can they be redirected to a page in the app?
