about favs vs bookmarks

I really want to understand whats the bookmark option for
So before we had..
reputation vs favs ( for me was ok bcause favs was like giving +1 to a post and instead reputation is more user related, also you can limit reputation with plugins )now we have bookmarks instead of favs but i dont see a real use
i want to save all interesing post i see,
but they will be displayed in a long list without a seach feature, this will end up just forgetting the option when it reaches a big ammount of postalso notifications to other user on post bookmark begins to make no sense
so what do you think?

I upvote many posts for many reasons. I bookmark only a few posts because I find them important to me for a specific reason and I will be wanting to get back to that content at some time in the future. Similar to how I book mark a webpage in my browser. I don't bookmark for posterity but rather for utility.

yes, i understand that the ideal situation ut if you want to save many post in the long time will need some kind of searching system
and notification to the author was ok with favs but no sense with bookmarks
