Cant access SSH server in Mac
-
Hi everyone
Has anyone know how to access to my digital ocean SSH server using terminal in mac?
I tried ssh root @xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
But this is the error shown
ssh: connect to host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port x: Operation timed outEdit: actually it's a typo in this post. I actually typed in ssh [email protected] but that's the error it shows

Try without space between root and @ or do ssh {IP_address} -vCl root

@gvimlan I connect to my Digital ocean SSH server (Ubuntu) with the following command:
After this it asks for my password and I'm logged in.
What @Peter-Zoltan-Keresztes said makes sense. Get rid of the space after root and before @
So: ssh [email protected]
Let us know if this works!

@remcokatz 104.236.216.xxx eh? Not bad, only 255 IP addresses to try

155, the blur has 3 digits.

and it starts with 2 and ends with 7 so that would give 5.

Hi.
Actually it was a typo, I did type it without space on the terminal but it shows that error as stated .:/ -
Maybe run it with -v option so you get verbose output. Also look at your firewall settings on your droplet. Make sure your ssh is listening on port 22 and not some other ports. Also try to ping your droplet from your mac to make sure you have connectivity between the two endpoints. maybe try telnet {your_ip_address} 22 to see if it's connecting.

Thanks for the reply.
As u suggested, I tried to ping and use telnet and apparently its not connecting to the server. I checked on the server computer and the port 22 was open but not sure why is it not connecting? -
@remcokatz
That terminal is working but I m trying to connect using terminal and also trying to use filezilla to transfer files easily -
Does you droplet has internet access? Try pinging google from it to make sure that it does have internet access. From your mac try to ping your droplet gateway. If that pings that mean there is an issue inside DO network contact the support line to have them fix the network.

Or change your VPS service provider with one which does not have misconfigured VPS or network issues.
