Amazon EC2 Help

Hi,
I am fairly new to using nodebb and node.js and server coding etc. I had someone setup the ec2 server and the forum for me. My question is how do I access the code in the ec2 so that I may do things like reset plugins. Can someone point me to a tutorial? I am fairly certain once I get there i can figure it out via tutorials and such. Thanks.

I downloaded putty and I guess I am going to need a .pem file and some codes that were used when the instsnce was created atleast thats what I am understanding atm.... I will try again tomorrow and see if I can make sense of all this. Thanks for the help.
