random displaying topics

Hello guys, I found this plugin. https://github.com/NodeBB/nodebb-plugin-random-topics
and I installed it. But I dont know how to use it. In ACP, it only has two lines.

Route to show topics at eq: "featured" or "random-topics". No leading slash
Time cutoff in months, older topics won't be shown. Set to 0 to disable.

Any hints? Thanks.

This plugin creates a new route at /random that displays random topics from the forum. In the admin page you can change the name of the route used and set a cutoff time so only newer topics are picked randomly.

for example, I have a category called xxx, which can be accessed by domain.com/category/2/algorithm, so I need to tell this plugin that

Then, domain.com/category/2/algorithm will display topics randomly?

I tried. But domain.com/category/2/algorithm still display topics as set by users. For exmple Recently Replied

so only newer topics are picked randomly.

No this plugin creates a new route at yourforum.com/random that display random topics from all categories. It doesn't modify how the existing category page works.

I have a question. Is it possible to let it display randoms topics from a certain category, or a certain tag?

The plugin supports showing topics from a category, you can use /random?cid=1 to only display from category id 1.

Try cid[]=6 I will make a fix so cid=6 works too.

Then rebuild and restart.

You are missing a = in your url should be ourforum.com/random?cid[]=6.
